So apart from Covent Garden, does anyone know of a nice place? There are so many, we must be able to come up with some kind of alternative. Let's face it, we don't need to be playing chess here, drinking is just as much fun, if not more so! 😵

We could all sign up to a cheesy, online chess web site, and chat in the forums.

Gimme a few days to do some research and I'll let you know what I come up with.

I would suggest somewhere by the river perhaps. The Old ship in Hammersmith is nice, along with numerous others around there, but it's not so central. One thing i do know, is we have now stumbled across a problem with a centrally located location, that being that a lot of places are closed on weekends. Covent Garden will be open, but very busy and expensive and noisey. We need somewhere cosy, not too much noise, but not completely dead at the same time....

A friend of mine's brother set up the Itchy magazines (guides for restuarants/bars etc.) I will phone my friend tomorrow and get his brother's number and have a chat. Maybe he will be able to suggest something. He lives in London and is a bit of a party animal so maybe he'll know somewhere we could go.

There are a couple of pubs around Clapham Junction, specifically Northcote Road. Central enough, and with some buzz on the weekends.

I don't know the bars well enough to comment though, except for the Northcote (which is more of a sports bar).

All we need is somewhere big and relatively quiet so we can move about freely and talk to each other.
